A note on the back page states, "Their does not appear to have been any Acct taken of the population of this parish since the year 1796; at that time the No of Males 594 females 552 Total 1145.
Remarks: As the Increase of Females is Considburaly Greater than that of Males, the cause of no greater increase in the Total is Probably the War. & our Neighbourhood to the Coast from Which in time of War our Lads are sought for the Merchants Service." |
